Le CIO lance un concours pour la création de la médaille des JOJ

Le Comité International Olympique (CIO) offre au public une chance unique d'écrire une page de l'histoire des Jeux en créant une médaille olympique pour la première édition des Jeux Olympiques de la Jeunesse (JOJ).

Le public du monde entier est invité à envoyer ses créations pour les médailles qui seront décernées aux athlètes des tout premiers Jeux Olympiques de la Jeunesse (JOJ), lesquels se dérouleront l'année prochaine à Singapour, du 14 au 26 août.

S'exprimant à propos du concours, le président de la commission de coordination des Jeux à Singapour en 2010, Sergey Bubka, a déclaré : "Le concept des tout premiers Jeux Olympiques de la Jeunesse ne concerne pas seulement les 3 600 athlètes qui participeront à cette édition en été prochain à Singapour, mais il a également pour ambition d'inciter les jeunes partout dans le monde à adopter les valeurs olympiques. En lançant le tout premier concours en ligne de création de médaille, nous espérons tirer parti de la créativité et de l'imagination de la jeunesse du monde.

Du 16 au 18 octobre 2009 aura lieu à Genève la deuxième édition de l’événement dédié à la mode éthique en Suisse : « Ethical Fashion Days ».

L’objectif principal est de démontrer qu’il est possible de créer les tendances de demain en y intégrant des valeurs de transparence et d’éthique. « L’Ethical Fashion days » vise également à:

- Sensibiliser aux problématiques environnementales et sociales de la production textile au travers d’une étude d’éco-bilan, d’expositions didactiques et de conférences-débats lors de l’événement.

- Inciter et aider les stylistes de mode et les designers de bijoux à travailler avec des matières naturelles et/ou issues du commerce équitable au travers de deux concours (Ethical Fashion Design Award et Ethical Jewellery Design Award).

- Offrir des débouchés dans le commerce pour les stylistes et designers remportant les concours, et pour les stands présents.

- Permettre la diffusion et la commercialisation en Suisse romande de marques éthiques en créant une plate-forme de rencontres entre les marques et les acheteurs.

Nos complace anunciar que La Cabina abre su plazo de inscripción para su segunda edición, que tendrá lugar del 9 al 13 de diciembre del 2009.

A pesar de la alta producción internacional de mediometrajes (tanto en cantidad como en calidad), este formato a medio camino entre el corto y el largo no suele encontrar cabida en festivales cinematográficos ni salida comercial. Tras la gran acogida de su primera edición, La Cabina continúa en su empeño por dar notoriedad a este formato y, en su segunda edición, pretende consolidarse como un lugar de encuentro exclusivo para la exhibición de obras audiovisuales de una duración comprendida entre los 30 y los 60 minutos.

Por todas estas razones, os animamos a presentar vuestros trabajos a la comisión organizadora del festival antes del 15 de noviembre.

The IF3 International Freeski Film Festival, presented by The North Face, Reebok and Salomon, is pleased to present the third edition of the IF3, September 17-20, 2009 in Montreal, Quebec. Freeskiing is one of the fastest growing and most skillful snow disciplines today, and has quickly developed an impressive community of dedicated filmmakers working to chronicle the sport’s evolution and talent through film. The IF3 will feature the world premieres of the top twelve professional films along with five amateur movies, and will draw athletes and adrenaline addicts from all over the world. The film showcase and its surrounding events will take place all weekend at Cinema Imperial, Centre Sandra & Leo Kolber Salle Lucie & André Chagnon, in Montreal. For the third year, we are thrilled to partner with our sponsors to bring the entire world of freeskiing together for five days to give the community a chance to see the talent that our sport has been fostering over the last few years,” says IF3 President and co-founder Felix Rioux. In addition to the loaded film schedule at Cinema Imperial, the IF3’s activities will include two free outdoor screenings presented by The North Face and Red Bull. Held in the Old Montreal, these screenings are set to feature the best of the best of IF3. The first screening will kick off the weekend with the Red Bull Cold Rush movie as well as IF3’s 2008 Movie of the Year, Poorboyz Productions’ Reasons, on Thursday, Sept 17th. The second will take place on the last day of the festival in front of a much larger crowd and will feature the 2009 IF3 movie of the year in what will surely be a perfect way to conclude the third annual International Freeskiing Film Festival.

On top of the outdoor screenings and premieres, the IF3 will provide daily autograph signing sessions with the top freeskiers in the world, at the IF3 Launch Party on Thursday night at Club Lamouche, Friday night’s Reebok Classic Party featuring new school and old school hip hop artists at Theatre Telus, Saturday night’s Newschoolers Awards with Reggae artists Mikey Dangerous and a DJ set from Payz Play at Theatre Telus, and last but not least, the JF Cusson Golf Invitational on Monday.

Es un concurso creado por la comunidad de artistas Ecos de las Artes, (el cual tiene más de 3.000 miembros a la fecha en facebook) y Designel Creative, www.designel.cl , (Agencia Creativa de diseño Web y gráfico, especialistas en diseños para artistas) y esta destinado a registrar las realidades del artista en Latinoamérica. Por medio de una selección de videos o muestras audiovisuales en donde se registre el arte de cada participante y la pieza audiovisual contenga los siguientes tres puntos conjugados.

1. Mostrar a Latinoamérica, puede ser de cualquier forma pero que se entienda.

2. Mostrar el arte del participante, fusionándolo con el punto 1 y 3.

3. Mostrar o mencionar, ECOS DE LAS ARTES, integrándolo a la muestra audiovisual, como concepto, con su nombre, con su imagen o logo.

La tipografía y la cultura urbana, aunque de manera un tanto desapercibida para muchos, siempre han ido de la mano. Desde al arte hermano del lettering en el graffiti a la ilustración de alfabetos para marcas de skateboard, la tipografía ha formado parte del desarrollo de la cultura visual. Esto es un homenaje de UNO magazine y la galería Montana Colors (en Barcelona) a esta relación histórica tan cargada de forma como de fuente. Os presentamos cinco pósters para los cinco glifos de la palabra S K A T E. Una interpretación gráfica libre de las formas o mensajes de estas grandes capitales. Seis diseñadores para los cinco anagramas: Álex Trochut, Inocuo, Ángel Sanz con Jenny Teng, Sergio Jiménez y Losiento.

BMX Worlds 09 Live Webcast

Wenn drahtige Athleten senkrechte Wände bewältigen, weltberühmte Freeskier über die Gradwanderung zwischen alpinen Gefahren und Faszination Pulverschnee berichten, Bergsteiger ihre Emotionen nach harten Expeditionen zu den Weiten der Gipfelwelten schildern, wenn Kajaker unglaubliche Einsichten in verborgene Kulturen erlauben, dann ist es endlich wieder soweit: die eindrucksvollsten Natur- und Abenteuerfilme aus Banff, Kanada sind auf der Reise über den gesamten Globus.

Im kleinen Städtchen Banff in der kanadischen Provinz Alberta werden jährlich die besten Werke der talentiertesten Filmemacher aus rund 1.000 Einreichungen prämiert. Die Produktionen kommen aus ca. 40 verschiedenen Ländern und werden sowohl von sportbegeisterten Studenten, als auch von professionellen Teams wie BBC oder National Geographic angefertigt. Die Agentur INN.PULS, als Lizenzpartner in Österreich, wählt jedes Jahr ein Programm aus, welches die Faszination der Bergwelten nicht außer Acht lässt und gleichzeitig auch Fans außergewöhnlicher Sportarten voll auf ihre Kosten kommen lässt.

Auch heuer ist es wieder gelungen einen faszinierenden Film mit österreichischer Beteiligung in das Programm zu holen. Gemeinsam mit Altmeister Ryan Leech setzt der BikeTrial Weltmeister Thomas Öhler in „Crux“ neue technische Standards, u.a. in den Straßen von Innsbruck, Linz und Salzburg und im Kaunertal. Während „Crux“ als Schlüsselstelle übersetzt werden kann, bezeichnet „The Sharp End“ in der Sprache der Kletterer das Ende des Seils, in das sich der Vorsteiger einbindet, im Vertrauen auf Haken, Knoten und Kameraden. Kletterfilmregiseur und Banff Stammgast Peter Mortimer begleitet in der gleichnamigen Produktion eine Reihe Kletterer, die eine Vorliebe für das Begehen schlecht gesicherter Routen entwickelt haben, sofern sie nicht gleich seilfrei unterwegs sind. Um das scharfe Ende geht es auch in „If you’re not falling“ auf massiven schottischen Felsbrocken. Nomen est omen.
Nicht zu kurz kommt die kritische Betrachtung alpiner Gefahren in „The Fine Line“. Unter Mitarbeit der Canadian Avalanche Foundation kombiniert der Beitrag faszinierende Naturaufnahmen, atemberaubende Freeskiszenen und emotionale Berichte von Sportlern in Extremsituationen zu einem fesselnden Film mit der klaren Botschaft „Safety first“!
Ein weiteres Highlight des Progamms 2009 entführt den Zuseher in unentdeckte Regionen Papua Neu Guineas. In einer zweimonatigem Kajak- und Höhlenexpedition durch Dschungellandschaften, enge bewachsene Täler, Wildwasserrouten und stille Flußläufe begegnete das Team neuen Herausforderungen und fremden Kulturen.

Von Argentinien nach Indien über Island bis nach Österreich erstreckt sich die BANFF Mountain Film Festival World Tour. Mit rund 450 Vorführungen in mehr als 30 Ländern der Welt erreicht die Tour heuer über 175.000 begeisterte Zuseher und ist somit das weltweit größte und bekannteste Berg- und Abenteuersportfilmfestival!

Durch das eindrucksvolle Zusammenspiel von spektakulären Sportaufnahmen und sagenhaften Naturschauspielen verspricht das BANFF Mountain Film Festival ein Filmerlebnis der ganz besonderen Art. Mit Sicherheit also ein Abend, den man nicht versäumen darf!

Call for Entries: 4th Annual ATA Film & Video Festival

Artists' Television Access invites experimental film and video makers to submit their work (20 minutes or less) to its 4th Annual ATA Film and Video Festival. Video, Super 8 and 16 mm, animation, documentary, narrative, abstract, found footage based and other works will be accepted.

The ATA Film and Video Festival is committed to showcasing films and videos that use an unconventional stylistic and technical approach and bring up subjects or concepts that not only entertain, but also provoke, our diverse audience. The festival also includes installations in ATA's Mission District storefront gallery, a lunch for the filmmakers, and new in our 4th year, a discussion forum for the exchange of ideas amongst filmmakers, curators and audiences.

Oakley, Inc., in conjunction with 1242 Productions, announced today the upcoming release of “Uniquely,” a 35-minute travel inspired women’s action sports film shot exclusively in High-Definition (HD).

“Uniquely” is a 6-section travel inspired women’s multi–sport (snowboard, ski, surf, skate, wake) film that exposes the “unique” personalities and lifestyles of the athletes involved as they pass the baton, or camera, from one location to the next.

The “Uniquely” film takes viewers on a cultural journey through Japan, Russia, Colorado, California, Indonesia, Brazil, Australia and beyond. Audiences will explore the remote corners of the earth with the women of Oakley, as they search for perfect conditions while building lasting memories and lifelong friendships.

“Uniquely showcases the diverse personalities, lifestyles and athletic talents of the Oakley women’s team,” said Liesl Holtz, “Uniquely” Executive Producer. “The film exposes the joys and challenges of being a professional athlete while inspiring us all to create our own adventures.”
